Experience animals up close

Summer at Norefjell

Welcome to an active summer holiday with mountain hikes and horse riding on Norefjell. Every year, Seterliv is arranged directly below the hotel. Here the children can meet different animals, and there is the possibility of horse riding, canoe rental etc. Animals that will be on the farm this summer are horses, goats, pigs, donkeys and chickens.

Bjørneparken - Bear Park

See bears, elk, lynx and exotic animals and experience magical encounters between animals and people.

Barnas Bondegård (children’s farm) at Blaafarveværket

Barnas Bondegård at Blaafarveværket features goats, rabbits, calves, pigs and various birds. The goats are curious and playful and run freely around the farm. You can enter the rabbit enclosure. Perhaps one of the children would like to hold one on their lap?

Cool kids in Krylling Park

Skateboard, bike, scooter, play and training park in Krøderen. The park is located above the Coop supermarket and Krøderen school, close to Krødsheradhallen. Super cool park for skating, cycling, scootering, play and training. Children of all ages can test their skills in exciting and challenging surroundings. Pump track and mini ramp at Høgevarde Mountain Park.

The Lavvoen lounge at Høgevarde Mountain Park has a pump track during the summer months, offering exhilarating experiences for children of all ages. There is also a mini ramp and a small climbing tower for the smallest children.

Skateboard Park in Prestfoss

The skateboard park is situated in Prestfoss town centre, right above Sigdal lower secondary school. It is suitable for scooters, skateboards and stunt scooters. There is also a game area close by.

Barnas Buldrehule (climbing cave) at Blaafarveværket

Barnas Buldrehule at Blaafarveværket is suitable for children from 4 to 12 years of age. Inside the cave, children can experience different elements made from wood and rope. On the mountain wall outside, there are opportunities for safe climbing.

Høyt og Lavt klatrepark (climbing park)

Barnas Gruvetur (children’s mine tour)

An educational experience for the whole family in Blaafarveværket’s cobalt mines. The tour is particularly suitable for children from 4 to 10 years of age. Everyone will be issued with a helmet and the trip will take you through a special landscape and exciting main galleries, with views of deep shafts. The tour lasts for about 1 hour

Ship Ahoy with M/S Kryllingen II

Enjoy an exciting, guided tour on Krøderfjord on board the M/S Kryllingen II. The kids can obtain a skipper certificate as well as pictures wearing a genuine skipper’s hat. They can also fish in a pool on board the vessel and obtain a fishing certificate. Various themed trips are organised throughout the summer.

Canoeing on Krøderfjord

Rent a canoe at Villa Fridheim and enjoy the beautiful surroundings from Krøderfjord. Canoes can be rented on both an hourly and daily basis, and life jackets can be borrowed if you don’t have your own.

Old-fashioned train ride on the Krøder Railway Line.

Every Sunday from 25 June until 27 August 2023, the whole family can enjoy a delightful train ride in traditional surroundings on the Krøder Railway Line, which opened in 1872. The vintage trains operate throughout the summer according to a fixed timetable and the kids will have a really great time.

Since opening in 2013, Lavvoen has become a much-loved restaurant for those staying in the cabins at Høgevarde. The newly refurbished Lavvoen opened in winter 2021, now focusing even more on locally produced and sustainable food.

Trollbua Eggedal

At Trollbua Eggedal, you will find a wide range of treats, from our own traditional baked goods to beef from our own cattle, tea and coffee, soft drinks, beer, jam, and ice cream from Skaarup in Kragerø.
